What a night and day difference!

I finally got a chance to put on the replacement HyrdaPak valve and give it a whirl. Boy, was its performance great! Not only did it NOT drip all over me and my bike, the fact that I didn't have to shut it off after every drink was a pleasure and the velcro attachment worked even better than before. What I figured was that since I wasn't fumbling with the shut-off feature, I could focus on getting the two velcro parts together. Nice. The only one I thought might be superior would be Nalgene's (I think) magnetic solution since they would find each other when they get close enough together. But their bite valve looks even more complex that the one HydraPak uses... so no thanks.

I'll have to see how the unit performs over time and with other drinks. I only used straight H2O this time around, but will drop in an energy drink for the next go-around.

Redemption, I suppose for the HydraPak unit... for now.
