Seven Bars are Ready to Roll

I got a chance to install the Seven Cycles titanium bar last evening onto my Trek Fuel 98. It was a little chilly out, but it all worked out fine. The removal of the Easton EA70 was a cinch especially since I already had my air compressor up and going because I have been working on installing a new floor in one of my bathrooms. But that is a completely other story. The significance of the air compressor is to get the grips off the bike. I had to swap the tip of the blower to a thinner nozzle, but that was fairly quick and easy. Shove the tip under the grips, blow and yank the sucker. Better than the hairspray or water methods I used to use. The barends and shifter/brake levers swapped over just fine. The unfortunate part is that I could not swap my computer over. Not because there wasn't any room on the bar, but because the titanium bar is so much thinner than the aluminum one. The ti bar uses alloy spacers to increase the center section to allow a stem to clamp onto it. The aluminum bar is flared in the center and does not require the spacers. That's OK. I will need to figure a way to get a computer on there so I can keep track of my speed and lap times.

After all was said and done, the entire bike weighed in at 25.02lbs. Since the last weigh-in I have added more dirt, an alloy Velocity bottle cage and the ti bars. I have removed the computer (but the little transmitter was left on... oops!) and the Easton bars. My next scheduled ride is this coming Monday. I'll post any significant thoughts after the ride... or complain about the additional inch of bar I left on there if I seem to be bouncing off trees...
