Even MORE Titanium!!!

Yummy, yummy! More titanium! I scored a fresh Seven Cycles titanium MTB handlebar off the MMBA classifieds the other day at a bargain price. When it arrived yesterday, it was in really, really good... no great condition. The only hiccup is that it is too wide and I will be wacking off at least an inch off both sides. It is 25" wide and both my racing bikes have 22" widths with my SS at 23.5"... all with barends to boot.

Anyway, after a little stress convincing myself how to and if I should cut the bar, I finally e-mailed Seven Cycles for their recommendation. My first instinct was right... use a pipe cutter... as Seven Cycles' Stevan Popovich responded:

Thanks for contacting Seven Cycles. We suggest using pipe cutters when cutting any bar as they make the straightest cuts. And you shouldn't have any trouble with installing bar ends. Just go about it like you would with any MTB bar. I hope this helps and if you have any more questions please let me know and I'll be happy to help.

So tonight I will cut it down to 23" or so leaving enough bar to take it down to 22" if it feels too wide while zooming through the trails. Oddly enough, all I need is a titanium stem and I will have an all titanium cockpit atop the mighty carbon FS rig. Sick. Just absolutely sick.
