Still MOre Titanium...

I am an impatient curr and had a bit of time last night after finishing up my chores so I fiddled on some of my bikes. Not just fiddled but installed the crimped seatpost. I just had to see if it would work with the shim and all and see what it looked like on the bike. So on it went. And I had to bite the bullet and decide to keep the post even with the dents. The bile it creates in the pit of my stomach will fuel me during the long rides to come. That is, after I get over the mechanical stability of the post. Anyhow, as I pushed in the shim I wondered how one would get this shim out if needed. I figured I could use the seatpost collar as a tool to force the little bugger out since it wasn't a fit that was buttery smooth. I had to apply some, ahem, love to get it in. The post, slid right in and clamping it down was a breeze. I had already put on a different saddle to try, the same type as on my road bike, just a little heavier.

After installation, I hop on and took it for a little spin. Saddle felt hard. I quick slapped on the tape to do some finite adjusting but only found the saddle needed to move back 0.25" to match my other bikes. I also pulled the nose down about 0.125" down. That's all it needed as the pinch point on my bones was gone.

After tooling around my block, I stopped and started to flex the saddle and post by hand. It is kind of scary being able to flex the post as much as I did by hand, but I assume it goes crazy when I'm sitting on it... yikes! I have to remember to see if the one on my other bike flexes as much... hmmm.
