Product Review: Dr. Soy

So I got a little sample package from Dr. Soy to try out some of their goods in hopes of passing on what I learned to those that may be interested in their product. Following is what I've experienced so far...

Their protein bars are really, really good. For between 180-190 calories each, they are a little more in calories than the average breakfast bar (110-180 cal) but way less than a candy bar or a power bar (Clif, PowerBar, you know...) coming in from 220-280 calories. I only got to try their chocolate-flavored varieties as they were out of the Lemon Cake. Shux! But their chocolate varieties were quite good except a slight chalky texture. No big deal, really. On top of that, the bars are under $1 each which make them a slightly better deal than the leading power bars, but more than a candy bar. But I feel that the better health benefit of the soy bars far outweigh the cost of ingesting a candy bar.

On the flip side, I tried their plain soy nuts and was not too impressed. I still have a bag of Ranch-flavored nuts, so I hope those have a bit more to them. The plain were just that... plain.

Just my 2 cents.
