Well, I guess this is the beginning of the ride season for me. The first official ride for the Dirt Dads group is tomorrow (Monday) and I am going. Let's see where my training (of lack thereof) is, compared with the others. Since the first ride has been called to Yankee Springs, I am disappointed that I will not be able to take the new single speed out for a maiden trail ride. The trail goes out pretty far and I am uncertain about my "talent" on this rig and don't want to end up too far behind, have a mechanical or just plain suck wind. So, I think I'll bring out one of the other rides...
Hmmm... let me introduce you to a bike I am still tweaking. I picked it up late last season and have been making adjustments and swapping parts the entire time. It is my Trek Fuel 98.

It was originally purchased in England by a military individual and was transplanted to Texas. It was told to me that there was very little riding done on it except a few rounds around the block and on the military base. When it arrived, I believed that to be true since most of the components were in tip-top condition for a 2003 model year bike. As with all of my other bikes, I wanted to make it my own so I started to swap and acquire parts as I saw fit...
Anyway, I will continue with the story later in another post but there is still tons and tons of work to still do on the bike and it will continue on this Monday.
