1-1@1 a Bust :-/

Well... the 1-1@1 wasn't the most pleasant of events for me. The cold temps and drizzle/rain kept others in the warm, dry security of their couches whilst I managed to pile on a coat of mud and sand on my backside and my bike.

The drizzle was spotty and others (including a father and son) were staging at the trailhead. So I decided to go it alone. As I ventured off into the trail the majority of it was in fairly good shape. There were expanses of wet leaves throughout with the most obnoxious ones lining some of the rock and rut-strewn downhills. A few mud-slick corners kept me on my toes as I pushed through some of the turns a bit beyond my comfort level. Only a hand full of small mudholes were apparent and none very large as the trail crews have done a supurb job at getting the trail to drain well. At the end of the trail, I came out of the big loop the same time as the father and son came out of the short loop... so I got to do the honors of snapping their pic for prosperity. After packing up and heading home, the sun peaked out and gave me a "howdy-do!". Blazing sun for most of the trip home. Now all I'm left with is sand and mud all over my bike, cycling duds, and the back of my car.

Time to get cleaning...
